Vickie Renae Klemm, 60, of Pickerel Lake, Richville, MN, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, November 7, at Zion Lutheran Church at (Amor) 36051 Co Hwy 74, Battle Lake, MN, 56515, with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor James Gronbeck will officiate.
Vickie Renae Marohl was born in Breckenridge, MN, on October 19, 1957, the youngest of three children born to Vernon and Audrey (Muehler) Marohl. She grew up and attended school in Wahpeton, ND; graduating in 1975. Following high school, Vickie attended North Dakota State School of Science (now North Dakota State College of Science) in Wahpeton and graduated from their nursing program. Her diverse career path led her to various nursing jobs, including home health care, and also into the Wahpeton school system working with children with learning disabilities. On June 10, 1978, Vickie married her soul mate and love of her life, Steve Klemm, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton. They resided in Breckenridge until 1999, at which time they moved to Pickerel Lake where they have since resided.
Devoted wife and compassionate friend, Vickie was most fulfilled when she was meeting the needs of others. She was an excellent cook and loved to bake. She believed that food was best if shared with others. Impromptu drop-ins with baked goods and entertaining friends and family, was something she planned with great joy. Vickie was an avid reader and treasured life at the lake. She looked forward to traveling with Steve yet couldn’t wait to get home to her favorite “girls”, her dogs, Maely and Hannah.
Vickie will be missed by her loving husband of 39 years, Steve; her sister-in-law, Sandy Marohl; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful dogs, Maely and Hannah. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Audrey; and her brothers David and Doug Marohl.
