Thaine Willemssen

Thaine “Doc” Willemssen, 77, Breckenridge, MN, formerly Foxhome, MN passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at St. Catherine’s Living Center, Wahpeton, ND.

His funeral will be on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 10:30AM at the United Methodist Church , Breckenridge , MN with Pastor Terry Tilton officiating.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 7, 2008 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge , MN . There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church

Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Breckenridge , MN .

Thaine “Doc” Willemssen was born on July 4, 1930 to S. Thomas and Florence (Nadeau) Willemssen in Wahpeton, ND. He grew up and attended country school near Foxhome , MN . He then attended Morris Ag School for three years and graduated from there in 1948. He worked for three generations of the Kruse farming operation east of Breckenridge , MN .

On July 16, 1951 Thaine was united in marriage to Donna Lee at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Foxhome. Following their marriage they moved to Breckenridge and later they moved to California . In 1961 they returned to Foxhome.

Doc was a member of the Foxhome Fire Department, Police Department, and the Foxhome City Council. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, square dancing, playing cribbage, reading Reader’s Digest, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Thaine is survived by, his wife, Donna Willemssen, Breckenridge, MN; his children, Rodney Willemssen, Wahpeton, ND, Leslie (Patsy) Willemssen, Wahpeton, ND, Thomas (Kim) Willemssen, Breckenridge, MN, Karleen (Bruce) Krause, Fairmount, ND; his eight grandchildren: Darcie and Derek Willemssen, Adam Willemssen, Alysha (Tanner) Oliphant and Zacharia Willemssen, Meghan, Chelsea, and Jade Krause; one great-grandchild, Lawson Oliphant, his daughter-in-law, Shelly Willemssen, Breckenridge, MN.

He was preceded in death by, his parents, S. Thomas and Florence Willemssen; his stepmother, Alice Willemssen; his sons, Donald and Gary Willemssen; his brother, Donald Willemssen, his sister, Flo Ellen Henderson.
