Ted Prieb, Jr

December 23, 1939 — October 24, 2007

Theodore "Ted" Prieb, Jr., 67, Pelican Rapids, MN, formerly of Rural Rothsay, MN passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Golden Living Center, Battle Lake, MN. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, Wolverton, MN with Pastor Clay Ellingson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Mitchell Township Cemetery, Rural Wolverton, MN.

Ted is survived by, his mother, Gladys Prieb, Barnesville, MN; his sisters, Donna (Guy) Varty, Elk River, MN, Marcy (Jim) Vavricka, Pelican Rapids, MN; his ten nieces and nephews, Tom (Carol) Varty, Woodland Hills, CA, Jon (Jill) Varty and Kelly (Brian) Burly, Elk River, MN, Jeff Vavricka, Sacramento, CA, Mike Vavricka, Detroit Lakes, MN, Kathy Vavricka, Forest Lake, MN, Kris (Dave West) Schoephoerster, Minneapolis, MN, Paul (Lisa) Schoephoerster, Fayette, MO, Ned (Sally) Schoephoerster, Circle Pines, MN; his fourteen grand nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ted Prieb, Sr.; his sister, Gerry Schoephoerster; his brother-in-law, Hugh Schoephoerster.

Teddy was born December 23, 1939 to Ted and Gladys (Hanson) Prieb in Rothsay, MN. He grew up in Mitchell Township and went to country school for eight years and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1957. He attended NDSCS in Wahpeton for two years and then farmed until he retired in 1999. He lived on the family farm until moving to Star Lake near Dent, MN in 1984.

Teddy was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, and sports fan. He especially enjoyed the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins, and Bison Wrestling. He played fastpitch softball for years and excelled as a pitcher. He was also on a bowling team.

Due to illness Teddy moved to adult foster care at Crystal Lake Inn at Pelican Rapids, MN in 2005. He had two good years until his illness got the best of him. His sense of humor sustained him.
