Stanley Ray Jacklitch, age 74, of Breckenridge, MN, passed away on March 30, 2025, at Sanford Medical Center Fargo.
Stan was born on July 10, 1950, in Breckenridge, Minnesota, at St. Francis Hospital. He grew up on the family farm in Campbell, MN, and graduated from Campbell High School. He attended college at MSUM and married Denise Breuer on August 16, 1986, in Mooreton, ND. They made their home in Breckenridge, where they raised three sons. Stan was a devoted and loving father, always present at his children’s sporting events alongside his wife, Denise. Whether it was traveling to games or helping drive the team bus, Stan was always there to support his boys.
Stan had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life. He played softball until the age of 57, forming lifelong friendships along the way. A hardworking man, he spent many years as a construction worker until an injury led him to pursue other work. Stan later became a school bus driver, commuting back and forth from Fergus Falls. He eventually took a job as a full-time clerk at Stop N Go, where his wife Denise also worked. Together, they became owners and operators of the store. Known for his work ethic and cheerful spirit, Stan was always ready with a smile and a helping hand, even amidst a busy schedule.
After the passing of his beloved wife Denise, Stan embraced retirement and found great joy in his role as a grandfather. He took pride in being the best Grandpa to his seven grandchildren. In his final act of generosity, Stan was an organ donor, continuing to help others even after his passing.
Stan is survived by his children, Jeremy Breuer of Froid, MT; Jamie Jacklitch (Briana) of Breckenridge; and Bryan Jacklitch (Kiah Smith) of Froid, MT. His cherished grandchildren are Halle Vareberg, Jordyn Breuer, Lucas Jacklitch, Kaleb Jacklitch, Beau Jacklitch, Kyrie Jacklitch, and Khora Jacklitch. He is also survived by his siblings, Jerry Jacklitch (Diane) of Baxter, MN; Jack Jacklitch of Detroit Lakes, MN; and twin sister, Sharon Ehlers (Jim) of Lady Lake, FL; as well as Paul Jacklitch (Sybil) of Wahpeton, ND; and Rose Terfehr (Kenny) of Moorhead, MN. His godson, Derrick Wettstein of Marinette, WI, and his mother-in-law, Jeanette Breuer of Mooreton, ND; brother-in-law, Michael Breuer (Kari) of Walcott, ND; sister-in-law, Diana Barendt of Mooreton, ND, sister-in-law, Suzan Garza (Jesse) of Mission, TX; Julie Aakre (Fred) of Wahpeton, ND; also survive him are many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Stan was preceded in death by his wife, Denise Jacklitch; his parents, Leola and Leo Jacklitch; his father-in-law, Francis Breuer; and his grandparents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at St. John’s Church in Wahpeton, ND, at 1pm, visitation will be held at 11am. Father Paul Kuhn will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests all memorials be made to the family. A donation will be made to charity in honor of Stan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge.
Stan will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his hard work, and the joy he brought to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and selflessness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
