Samantha Rae Pazdernik

Samantha Pazdernik, age 42, of Foxhome, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at her residence.  Her services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, November 6, 2023, at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN., with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Rene' Hasbargen will be officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge.

Samantha Rae Mortenson was born on January 25, 1981, to Harold and Dorothy (Long) Mortenson in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.  She grew up on the family farm in Erhard, MN.  She attended school in Fergus Falls, MN.

On November 12, 2004, Samantha married Ray Pazdernik at Hope Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN.  The couple was blessed with two daughters, Justice and Rylee. The couple would eventually make their home in Foxhome, MN.

Samantha loved her family, especially her granddaughters.  Many of the things she enjoyed included her family, such as shopping with her sister, or going to haunted houses with her children, as Halloween season was one of her favorite times of the year.  Samantha and Ray would spend evenings out playing billiards, or the afternoons fishing.  Recently, she found the knack in playing poker, and would travel around the lakes area playing different tournaments.  She also had a love for horses, and just recently returned from a trip to “Went North” horse camp in Menahga, MN, with her sister, Rhonda Thoennes, and friends, Joni Otto, Elaine Hanson, Wanda Scharfe, and Lenae Tollefson.  The time she spent with horses was very therapeutic to her.

Samantha is survived by her husband, Ray; daughters, Justice Rodriguez (Ricky Vondal), Rylee Pazdernik (David Wahl); granddaughters, Cora, Caroline, and Candace; siblings, Rhonda (Ron) Thoennes, Vickie Sander, Vicki Klemek, Keith Johansen, Duane Mortenson, Randy Mortenson; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Dorothy; and a brother Michael Mortenson.
