Ruth Seibel

Ruth M. Seibel, 85, of Breckenridge , MN , died December 1, 2008 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church , Breckenridge, with Pastor Burt Benson officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 4, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge , MN . There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens , Wahpeton, ND.

Pallbearers are Tyler Summerville, Nathan Summerville, Roger Abel, Lloyd Andeen, Fabian Yanez and Tony Bogenreif.

Ruth was born August 19, 1923, in Wahpeton, ND, the daughter of Victor and Louise (Leuring) Burton . She grew up in Wahpeton and graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1942. Following graduation she began working for the New System Bakery in Wahpeton. She also worked at Uncle Jim’s Restaurant and the Vada Fox Café.

On May 27, 1944, Ruth was joined in marriage to Frederick Seibel at Breckenridge Lutheran Church . They made their home in Breckenridge, where they have since resided.

Ruth was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Breckenridge Senior Citizens, and a former member of the Shirley Addition Homemakers Club. She was also a Cub Scout den mother when her sons were young. She enjoyed playing cards, working puzzles, and spending summers with her family at their Ottertail Lake cabin. She especially enjoyed visits from her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Fred, Breckenridge; her daughter: Sylvia (Robert) Peterson, Breckenridge, MN; her sons, Michael Seibel, Breckenridge, and David Seibel, Moorhead, MN; Her granddaughter, Stacy Allen, Breckenridge; Her great granddaughter, Brittany Allen, Breckenridge; her sisters, Elaine Burton, Spokane, WA, Phyllis Lindseth, Munich, ND, and Donna Standley, Wahpeton, ND; and several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents: Victor and Louise Burton; and her brother: Pat Burton.
