reckenridge, MN, formerly of Doran, MN passed away on Friday, December 26, 2008 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN.
Funeral services will be on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home Chapel,
Mildred Sara Bertram was born September 30, 1912 at
Mildred worked at the Sagness Variety Store in Breckenridge and later at Pamida.
She was a member of the Doran Presbyterian Church and Ladies Aid and the Doran Homemakers Club.
She enjoyed reading, knitting and playing Rhummikub and Bingo with her friends when she lived at the York Manor in Breckenridge.
She entered St. Francis Healthcare Campus on May 4, 2006.
She always enjoyed visits from her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by her three granddaughters, Kathy (Duane) Litton, Fargo, ND, DeAnn (Greg) Melkert, Erhard, MN, Lisa (Myron) Braun, Wahpeton, ND; her two grandsons, Rick (Carolyn) DeFries, Breckenridge, MN, Mick DeFries, Battle Lake, MN; Her great-grandchildren, Christopher (Britney) Litton, Corey (Laura) Litton, Drew Sondeland, Jenna (Charlie Braman, fiancée) Sondeland, Karlie Jo Braun, Jordyn Braun, Nicole (Skip) Evans, Joshua DeFries, Ashley DeFries, Jake DeFries; Her great-great grandchildren, Gage, Preston, Casey, and Cole Litton, Bailey Evans; her step great great grandchildren, Courtland, Beth, and Dillon; her son-in-law, Phil Bjerkager and his special friend Pat Heibel, Wahpeton, ND; and her brother, Fred Bertram, Beauford, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ida Bertram; her husband, Lubka DeFries; her daughter, Myrtle Bjerkager; her son, Richard DeFries, her sisters, Hazel Lovelace, Fergus Falls, MN; Clara Fisher, Elsie Williams, Gertrude Ellingson; her brothers, Walter and William Bertram.
