Marta Macias was born to Jose and Lorenza Macias on April 30, 1955, in Crystal City, Texas. She was married to Ricardo Mojica Sr. and the two welcomed three children together. After their separation, she fell in love with Margarito Garcia and raised 5 children together. In 1992, the family moved to Breckenridge, MN. The family was everything to Marta. She would spend as much time with her grandkids as possible, and if she weren’t with them, she would be on the phone talking with one of her kids. She was a natural caretaker and loved to cook for the whole family and anyone else that would come to her house.
Marta enjoyed many crafts throughout her life. She was talented and created beautiful cross-stitch pieces. When her eyes failed, she switched to coloring and had dozens of coloring books. Her favorite medium was the reliable crayon for her coloring projects. Summer was Marta’s favorite time of the year because she could stop by every rummage sale she could find. Often when someone would offer to drive her, she would beat them to the car and be ready to go. One of Marta’s true passions was spending time at the park with her loved ones, especially with her husband before his passing. She then started taking her grandkids with her, sharing watermelon together, and helping her feed the duck’s bread even though she knew she wasn’t supposed to. She truly loved and cherished each of her grandchildren.
Marta will be greatly missed by her children, Maria Mojica, Patricia Mojica, Ricardo Mojica, Margarito Garcia Jr., and Ramiro Garcia; her siblings, Paula Macias, Sauntos Macias, and Olga Macias; and 31 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ricardo Mojica Sr.; her last love, Margarito Garcia; and her parents, Jose and Lorenza Macias.
