Marcia Ann Pederson

Marcia Ann Pederson, 74, of Wahpeton, North Dakota, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton. The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2025, with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m., at Bethel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton. Pastor Amy Eisenmann will officiate the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Minnesota. 

Marcia Pederson was born on September 6, 1950, in Mahnomen, MN, to Palmer and Marion (Sirjord) Pederson. Born and raised on a farm in Mahnomen, after graduation from high school, Marcia set out to become a nurse. First as a Licensed Practical Nurse, and later, returning to college at Northland Community College, Thief River Falls, to earn her Registered Nurse Degree. 

Marcia worked as a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes and at St. Luke's Hospital (Sanford) in Fargo. She retired after working at St. Francis Nursing Home in Breckenridge, after 30 plus years. 

Marcia enjoyed gathering with friends and family, traveling, and biking. In retirement, Marcia continued to work as a nurse for various care centers in the area. She volunteered at Bethel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton, where she was a member of the congregation, and she was also a hospice volunteer. 

Marcia is survived by sister-in-law, Jennifer Pederson; sisters, Bonnie (Paul) Raduns, Sheila (Mike) Hondl, and Jeanine (Steve) Houska; brothers, Dean (Pam) and David (Heather) Pederson; nieces, Jill, Laura, Kristi, Heather, Wendy, Megan, and Heidi; nephews, Nevin, Geoff, Nate, Nick, Cory, and Eric.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul and Neiland; and nephew, Tyler Hondl.
