Lucille C. Korth, age 82, of Breckenridge, MN, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016, at her home in Breckenridge. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mark Manning officiating. There will be a visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Breckenridge at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge.
Lucille Catherine Wanek was born on November 14, 1933, to Frederick and Rose (Hestera) Wanek in Doran, MN. She grew up on a farm near Doran and attended school in Doran. In her earlier years, she worked as a waitress, and also for Nordahl Jewelry, where she started her "cleaning" career, polishing and cleaning fine silver.
Lucille was united in marriage to Wilbert Korth on January 7, 1953. They made their home in Milwaukee, and later moved to Breckenridge. She was a member at Breckenridge Lutheran Church. She retired from St. Francis Hospital after 30 years.
Lucille was a caregiver at heart and loved to help others. She enjoyed many activities at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, including Ladies Circle, Church Choir, Bell Choir, quilting, cleaning, she assisted with Communion, and she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She also enjoyed doing yard work, spending time with her grandchildren, and sharing her "Happy Smiley Faces" with everyone.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Korth, of Breckenridge; daughter, Anita (Al) Dumke, of Ashby, MN, and their children: Michael (Johanna) Traylor, Trent Dumke, and Christa Dumke; daughter, Catherine (Tim) Peters, of Aurora, IL, and their children: Corey (Andrea) Buzzell, of Mendota Heights, MN, Craig Buzzell, of Galesburg, IL; fiver great-granddaughters: Elise Buzzell, Carly Buzzell, Nora Buzzell, Noelle Traylor, and Kendra Dumke; brother, John (Sue) Wanek, of Breckenridge; sisters, Evelyn (Arlen) Spear, of Fairmount, ND; Emily (Peder) Bruvold, or Wahpeton, ND; Celia Rossow, of Breckenridge; sister-in-law, Judy Wanek, of Breckenridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Rose; her husband, Wilbert; two sons, David Korth, and Timothy Korth; sisters, Elaine Rossow, and Cecily Wanek; three brothers, Cecil Wanek, Leonard Wanek, and Edmund Wanek; sister-in-law, Muriel Wanek; and brother-in-law, Dallas Rossow.
