On January 20, 2015, Lavonne Toelle, 78, of Tintah, MN, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a brief but courageous battle with Thymus Cancer. Her visitation is from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, on Saturday, January 24, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Campbell, MN, followed by the funeral at 3:00 PM. Pastor Donald Wagner is the officiant. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Nashua, MN.
Lavonne was born in Breckenridge, MN, on June 11, 1936, to Leo and Florence (Warner) Willard. She attended Elliot Country School and West Central School of Agriculture in Morris. She graduated from Campbell High School in 1954. Following graduation, Lavonne worked at the Breckenridge Hospital and Clinic. She was united in marriage to Dean Toelle on May 17, 1955 at St. Gall's Catholic Church in Tintah. For many years the couple worked alongside each other and raised their 6 children on the family farm near Tintah. They retired from farming in 1994, but continued to reside in their home. Lavonne worked for Telnet in Fergus Falls, MN for 5 years.
Never one to be idle, Lavonne enjoyed many hobbies. She loved sewing, quilting, crafting, and shopping. She looked forward to spending time at the lake and leisurely tending her garden. She took pleasure in entertaining and made her home a welcoming gathering place for friends and family. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, her crowning glory was her family.
Lavonne is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dean; her children, Kathryn (Warren) Grove of Rugby, ND, Linda (Ron) Klukken of Osakis, MN, Cynthia (Kevin) Rosin of St. Bonifacius, MN, Steven (Laura) Toelle of Plymouth, MN, Laurie (Jack) Hanson of Brandon, SD, and Wanda (Alan) Conley of Waconia, MN; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Gail (Robert) Kuefler of Forest City, Iowa, and Charlotte (Richard) Davison of Tintah, MN; her brother, Loren (Margaret) Willard of Barnesville, MN; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Lavonne was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Florence; and an infant great-grandson, Jonathon.
