Jessica Faye Moen, age 23, of Kent, MN, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016, at her residence in Fargo, ND. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kent, with Father Joseph Backowski officiating. There will be a visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Kent.
Jessica was born on August 2, 1992, to Bradley and Jacqueline (Miller) Moen in Breckenridge. She grew up in Kent, and attended school in Breckenridge. While in high school, she was very active in 4-H, speech and golf, making All Conference in golf. She was a member of the National Honors Society and graduated with Honors in 2010. During high school, she worked as a Dietary Aide at St. Francis Healthcare Campus in Breckenridge.
Jessica attended University of North Dakota in Grand Forks for Environmental Science, which was a passion of hers. She loved all animals, and earth, and was extremely environmentally conscious. While in Grand Forks, she began working for Bed Bath & Beyond as a sales clerk, but worked her way up to Receiving Associate. After she moved to Fargo, she transferred to the Bed Bath & Beyond store there. Whenever a customer would walk into the store, Jessica would beam and welcome them with open arms and a warm smile. She was very friendly to everyone around her, and enjoyed social gatherings, especially holidays with family. She was very close with her nieces, and all of her cousins, and enjoyed many lively card games with family, most notably the "Moen 7 Up & 7 Down".
Jessica loved spending time with her best friend, Meggi, and that included many outings for "Taco Night" and catching every new animated movie that came out. She was well known around the area for her unique orange car, which fit her personality perfectly. Jessica was artsy, and was an excellent quilter; she learned from her Grandma Diane and her mom, Jackie.
Jessica is survived by her parents, Brad and Jackie Moen, of Kent; her brother, Matthew (Tara) Moen, and their children Allie, Kaelyn, and Nikki, all of Moorhead; Grandparents, Ed and Diane Miller, of Wolverton, MN and Marian Moen, of East Grand Forks, MN; Aunts and Uncles: Mark (Lisa) Miller, of Kent; Bruce (Anne) Miller, of Princeton, MN; Steve (Veronica) Moen, of Arvilla, ND; Jerry (Deb) Moen, of LaMoure, ND; Cousins: Devin Miller, Riley Miller, Noah Miller, Maya Miller, Kyle (Brooke) Moen, Amber (Mike) Agotness, Kris Moen, Michelle (Justin) Voller, Daniel (Elisa) Moen, Jody (Donnie) Fischer, Becky (Scott) Hoselton, and Dylan Moen; many additional cousins; and her life-long best friend, Meggi Ihland, of Grand Forks.
She was preceded in death by her Grandpa Richard Moen; and her Uncle and Aunt, Eugene and Vernette Moen.
