Jerome was born on the family farm near Kent, MN, on June 9, 1924, one of nine children born to Anton and Lena (Schweip) Miranowski. Growing up, he attended Districts 44 and 75 Country Schools and helped his mom and dad on the farm. It was during this time that Jerome developed a deep-rooted love for horses. In 1940, he entered the US Army and served his country during WWII as a Staff Sargent in the 1st Field Artillery Observation Battalion in Korea. Following his discharge in 1944, he returned to the Kent area and worked on the family farm. In 1948, Jerome was united in marriage to Rosemary Ehlert at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The couple purchased a farm site then fulfilled his dream of raising Shetland ponies. In 1970, Jerome retired from the farm and began working as a superintendent of the Boise de Sioux Golf Course. He remained there until he retired in 1981. He and Rosemary enjoyed 51 years of marriage before she passed away in 1999. Then in 2001, Jerome married Lorraine Henderson in Henning, MN.
Jerome was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Brushvale, MN, and the American Legion Post 53 in Breckenridge. He looked forward to the large family reunions and appreciated winters spent in Arizona. He made many special memories with family and friends on Silver Lake. A strong work ethic and a love for horses defined Jerome, but unconditional love for his family compelled him.
