Helen Werseen was born in Doran, MN, on June 15, 1925, to James and Leona (Sikorski) Werseen, but it was her grandparents, Leo and Frances Sikorski, who raised her. Helen married Elroy Cimbura on September 11, 1947. They resided in Breckenridge and were blessed with seven children. Helen’s first priority and first love was for her family. Raising her seven children was her full time job but also found time to serve as an active member in her homemakers club, the Eagle’s Club, and the VFW Auxiliary. She was a beautiful singer and in her younger years, sang at many weddings, funerals, and church functions. Helen was a superb baker and cook and she notoriously gave meals and baked goods to those she loved; never looking for thanks, only a smile.
Helen was the dearest mother of Claude (Margaret), Colleen Lokken (Tom), Craig (Sharon),
Curt (Josie), Carla Olsen (David, deceased), Cris, Carrie Bechtold (Tom); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one nephew and two nieces. She is preceded in death by Elroy Cimbura, her parents and grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Richland/Wilkin Humane Society, Wahpeton, ND.
