Eline Berg

Eline Dorothy Berg, 90, currently of Fargo, ND, formerly of Campbell, MN; Breckenridge, MN; and Ottertail Lake, MN; passed away at Sanford Broadway Medical Center in Fargo on July 3, 2018.

Eline Dorothy Bjornaas was born on September 6, 1927 in Underwood, MN to Peder and Martha (Kittelson) Bjornaas. She was baptized and confirmed at Rindal Lutheran church in Underwood and later, graduated from Underwood High School in 1945. After receiving her diploma, she pursued her associates in education at Minnesota State Teachers College in Moorhead, MN. Eline began teaching in rural Underwood and Campbell, MN schools. Shortly after this, Eline was united in marriage to Loy Berg at Rindal Lutheran Church in 1949. Together they made their home in Campbell, then in Breckenridge, and finally, Ottertail Lake during their retirement.

Eline was a devout member of the Congregational Church in Campbell where she was the organist for many years, she also was a member at Zion Lutheran Church in Amor, MN. Her Lutheran faith was very important to her and she enjoyed serving in any way she could for her church. This carried over to her home where everyone was always welcomed to join her around her kitchen table and enjoy a cup of coffee. Eline was known for her warm heart and her coffee, she ALWAYS had the coffee “on.” She was a wonderful hostess, a dear friend, and a loving mother - she will be greatly missed.

Eline is survived by daughter Pam (Bruce) Bernstein, son Lon (Dureen) Berg, and son Eric (Christy Delaney) Berg.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Loy, brothers Orville and Roald, parents Peder and Martha.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2018, at Riverview Place in Fargo, ND with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Sunset burial at Riverside Cemetery in Campbell, MN.
