Dora Jean Johnson, 78, of Breckenridge, MN, died at St. Francis Health Care Campus in Breckenridge, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life gathering from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at the Senior Citizens Center in Breckenridge.
Dora Jean Baker was born to Gladys and Harry Baker, on April 24, 1936 at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge. She grew up and attended school in Breckenridge. In 1952, Dora was united in marriage to Dennis Larson in Sisseton, SD. The couple lived in St. Paul for a short time. Then she moved back to the Breckenridge area and married Elroy Johnson on October 17, 1956, in Moorhead, MN. They lived in various communities until settling in Breckenridge where they raised their family. Elroy passed away on June 8, 2011, and Dora continued to live in Wahpeton. She enjoyed reading, crafts, and spending time with family and friends.
Dora is survived by her 11 children, Denise (Brian) Stevenson of Breckenridge, Robin (Jim) Olson of Bemidji, MN; Neal (Janelle) Johnson of Wahpeton, ND, Dorean Hanson of Mesa, AZ, Harry Johnson of Breckenridge, Harvey Johnson of Breckenridge, Bruce (special friend, Stephanie Mattis), of Breckenridge, Brian Johnson of Breckenridge, Cheryl Pfeffer of Moorhead, MN, Billie Jo Johnson (Gary Rugenstein) of Fairmount, ND, Jamie (Mike) Anderson of Halstad, MN; many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Vera Crumlette, Alberta Holtgrewe, and Georgette Craddolph; and several nieces and nephews.
Dora is preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Harry Baker; her husband, Elroy; 2 sons-in-law, Thomas Stach and Glenn Hanson; a granddaughter Gina Stach.
