Darrell N. Drewlow, age 67, of Breckenridge, MN, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at St. Francis Healthcare Campus Nursing Home in Breckenridge. The funeral will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church in Breckenridge. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Pastor Ross Fritz will be officiating. Burial will take place at Christ Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wolverton, MN.
Darrell Norman Drewlow was born on April 12, 1950, in Breckenridge, to Arthur and Evelyn (Sabbe) Drewlow. He grew up on the family farm 10.5 miles northeast of Breckenridge, and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1969. Darrell attended North Dakota State College of Science and graduated with a degree in Business Management in 1972. At the age of 16, Darrell had been in a car accident, and was deemed disabled. He lived with his parents until their passing. In 1983, Darrell was united in marriage to Ilene McCambridge, and from this union the couple had Christina.
Darrell worked as volunteer at the hospital gift shop from 1982 until 2002; he loved interacting with residents and customers. Darrell had been an Elder at Grace Lutheran Church and was very involved in church activities, especially Bible Study. During his time in the nursing home, he enjoyed playing Whist card games, Bingo, and getting to go out for a meal at a local restaurant. He enjoyed when he would receive pictures and stories from family members when they would come to visit; he was always available to be a great listener.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Ilene, of Wahpeton; his children: Christina (Travis) Keller, of Casselton, ND, Patrick McCambridge, of Wahpeton, Lucy Lehmann (Ben Oliver), of Wahpeton, Lora Heilman, of Bismarck, Tina (Darryl) Berg, of Walhalla, ND, Mary (Todd) Hagen, of Wahpeton; 13 Grandchildren: Manaiah, Kathy Jo, Brandi, Abbie, Drew, Alek, Ari, Aric, Jay Preston Cash, Tyler Cash, Bella, Lila, Adley; 3 Great-Grandchildren; a sister, Karen (Richard) Kemp, of Hamilton, ND; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one great-grandchild.
