Claudia was born October 24, 1949 in Duluth, MN, the youngest child and only daughter of Peter and Ardath (Davenport) Muscatello. She grew up in Duluth and graduated from Denfeld High School in 1967. Following graduation she obtained employment in St. Paul, MN, working for various departments for the State of Minnesota. While working there, Claudia met the love of her life, Jay Langseth. They were married February 7, 1970 in Duluth and made their home in St. Paul.
After having two children, Claudia and Jay moved to Jay's home town of Breckenridge, MN, where they raised their family with small town values. Together the couple owned and operated "Three Rivers Trucking." Claudia was an integral part of the business, working on the business end of the company and doing the dispatching. She enjoyed caring for her children on the family farm, her big tractor, her big garden and their trucking business. She was especially proud of her big pumpkins and little cucumbers, winning ribbons at the Wilkin County Fair. She loved to travel and see America and eat the local foods. Texas ribs were her favorite. In the 1970's and 80's Claudia volunteered for the National Weather Service, recording and reporting rain and snow measurements. She also enjoyed being a ham radio operator.
When her children went off to college, Claudia took classes and passed tests in order to obtain her real estate sales and brokerage licenses. She owned and operated "Three Rivers Real Estate" in Breckenridge and enjoyed selling real estate for a number of years. She also enjoyed caring for her dogs, cats, sheep and horses and reading and doing crossword puzzles.
