Charlotte "Lottie" Atterberg was born in Breckenridge, on December 20, 1953, to Paul and Lois (Goral) Atterberg. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1972 and then attended college and received a Bachelor's Degree in teaching. After several years as a teacher, Lottie's career path changed when she went back to school and attended North Dakota State University to pursue a degree in Pharmacy. She worked for a short time in the pharmacy at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, followed by twenty plus years as a pharmacist in the Bozeman, Montana Hospital.
The move to the Bozeman area in 1988, was prompted by a passion for the great outdoors; a passion shared by her best friend, partner and husband, Don Richard. Together, Lottie and Don enjoyed hiking, biking, skiing, hunting, fishing and camping. Their beloved dogs were constant companions on their many adventures. Over the years, Lottie and Don hosted countless family and friends, welcoming them to their mountain home for rest and recreation.
Lottie is survived by her brother, Bruce (Annette) Atterberg of Richville, MN, and their children, Peter Atterberg, Ruth (Dan) Peterka, and Kelly (Sam) Leadens; and her cousin, Julie (Robert) Klein of Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lois; and her husband, Don.
In lieu of flowers, the Atterberg family prefers memorials be given to charity.
