Bradley Jon Moen

February 3, 1962 — October 7, 2024

Kent

Bradley Jon Moen, age 62, passed away peacefully after a short but hard-fought fight against Glioblastoma, at his residence surrounded by family under the wonderful care of Red River Valley Hospice, on October 7, 2024.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2024, with a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 14, 2024, with a visitation one hour prior to the mass at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Kent, MN. Father Leo Moenkedick will be officiating the services. Burial will be held in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Kent.

Brad was born on February 3, 1962, to Richard and Marian (Sauer) Moen, the youngest of 4 boys, and grew up in Gilby, ND, where he attended Midway School District. With his dad taking a different job his senior year, he moved with his family and graduated from Pembina High School. After high school, Brad attended and graduated Aakers Business College in Grand Forks and went on to work in Grand Forks.

Brad married Jackie Miller on October 19, 1985, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kent. They raised their 2 children, Matthew and Jessica on Jackie’s family farm by Kent. The summer of 1985 also brought Brad back to his roots as he followed in the footsteps of many family members, including his father, brother, uncle and cousins and started his lifetime job of working in the grain elevator business when he was hired by Minn-Kota Ag Products. Brad absolutely loved his job and considered the employees and his customers among his dearest friends. His favorite times of the year were spring planting and fall harvesting.

As much as Brad enjoyed work, above all his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent creating memories with them. Spending time with his children and grandchildren were always his first choice when he had the opportunity. Whether it was at the farm, the lake or wherever their journey took them, hearing the laughter of his granddaughters and listening to their stories always melted his heart. Brad also loved the adventures he shared with friends, whether it was traveling, camping, or riding Ranger. While his passions ran deep for the love of golf and UND Hockey, he also looked forward to life’s simple tasks of mowing the lawn, tinkering in the shop, or sitting in the deer stand.

Brad will be greatly missed by his wife of 38 years, Jackie; son, Matthew (Tara) Moen, Barnesville; three granddaughters, Allie, Kaelyn and Nikki; two brothers, Steve (Veronica), Bismarck, and Jerry (Deb), Alexandria; Father and Mother-In-Law, Edward and Diane Miller, Wolverton; Brothers-In-Law, Mark (Lisa) Miller, Kent, and Bruce (Anne) Miller, Princeton, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Brad in death are his daughter, Jessica; parents, Richard and Marian; brother, Gene; Sister-In-Law Vernette; Grandparents Oscar and Mary Moen and Ralph and Mabel Sauer.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that you would consider giving a memorial to the Roger Maris Cancer Center, Red River Valley Hospice or a charity of your choice.
