Blanche (Fuder) Braun, 98, Wahpeton, ND, formerly of Breckenridge, MN passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church, Breckenridge, MN with Reverend Burt Benson officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge, MN. Visitation will be on Friday, April 4, 2008 from 4 PM to 7:30 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN.
Pallbearers will be: Randy Fuder, Matt Fuder, Ryan Fuder, Butch Fuder, Brian Fuder, Paul Bruce.
Blanche was born on December 10, 1909 at Marengo, IA to Charles and Effie (Sharp) Bruce. Her family moved from Cedar Rapids, IA to Sandy, OR in 1924. After graduating from high school at Sandy in 1927 she completed a business course at the Northwestern School of Commerce in Portland. She worked at a dental clinic until 1930 when she joined her family in a move to Wilkin County, MN. She was employed by Victor Lundeen & Co. in Fergus Falls until her marriage to Leslie Fuder in November, 1935. They farmed in Akron Township, Wilkin County until the death of her husband in 1962 at which time she became a resident of Breckenridge.
In 1958 Blanche accepted employment with Wilkin County SCS, and in 1960 she was appointed Deputy Clerk of District Court, Wilkin County until she retired in 1975. In 1973 she and Carl Braun of Rothsay were married. Carl preceded her in death in March of 1987.
Blanche was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and LWML. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, baking, cooking and gardening.
Blanche is survived by: her four sons, Bruce (Bernice) Fuder, Breckenridge, MN Lynn (Joyce) Fuder, Breckenridge, MN, Mark (Janet) Fuder, Fergus Falls, MN, Ray Fuder, Pipestone, MN, his special friend Mina Beck; her one step-son, Richard (Judy) Braun, Rollette, TX; her 11 grandchildren, Randy (Kris) Fuder, Kari (Dave) DeVries, Rhonda (Scott) Wainwright, Ryan (Tammy) Fuder, Brian (Kim) Fuder, Jessica (Greg) Brown, Matt Fuder, Amanda Fuder, Carla (Tracy) Schneider, Shelly (Brian) Welsch; her 15 great-grandchildren; her 5 step grandchildren; her brother, Leslie Bruce, Rothsay, MN.
She was preceded in death by, her parents, Charles and Effie Bruce; her husbands, Leslie "Shorty" Fuder, Carl Braun; her two grandchildren, Lisa Diane Fuder, Susan Snyder; her step-daughter, LuAnn Oberg; her three brothers, Basil, Harold, and Clair Bruce.
