Belle (Klein) Rix, Breckenridge, passed away peacefully at Pioneer Senior Cottages, on Saturday, October 27, 2012, 1 month prior to her 88th birthday, surrounded by prayers and loved ones. May she walk with the angels. The visitation is at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Wednesday, October 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7. There is also a visitation on Thursday, one hour prior to the funeral at the church. The funeral is at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, Thursday, November 1 at 11:00AM with Pastor Mark Manning officiating. The interment is at Riverside Cemetery in Breckenridge.
Belle was born (along with her twin sister, Bertha) on November 27, 1924 to James Earl and Ella (Filk) Lee in Foxhome, MN. She attended school in the rural Ottertail County school system. At 17 years of age, she traveled to Washington state, working with Boeing Aircraft and in the shipyards, helping with the war effort during WWII. On September 6, 1947 she was united in marriage to Ronald Klein at Breckenridge Lutheran Church. They made their home and raised their 3 sons in Breckenridge. She, along with her husband Ron, worked on their farm until Ron retired due to his health. She then worked at Rosen Blatts (Fergus Falls, MN) and 3M (Wahpeton). Ronald preceded her in death on September 26, 1980. She married Bill Rix on March 26, 1982. She later moved to Fergus Falls, MN where she reseded until moving to Pioneer Senior Cottages in May of 2010.
Belle enjoyed gardening, both vegetables and flowers. Many people enjoyed the beautiful displays she came up with each year. She also enjoyed dancing and weekend card parties. Belle loved taking trips to the lake to spend time with family. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved cooking and caring for her husband and three sons, Stephen, Gary and Michael. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She has sewn many a seed, the loveliest being those of family and friends.
Her family wishes to thank the loving and caring staff at Pioneer Senior Cottages, Pastor Mark Manning, and Riveredge Hospice for ALL of their many kindnesses provided Belle as she made her final journey.
Bell is survived by her three sons, Stephen (Kay) of Breckenridge, MN, Gary of Grand Forks, ND, and Michael of St. Louis Park, MN; her grandchildren, Patrick (Tammy) McCullough of Apple Valley, MN, Michael (fiance` Joann) McCullough of Albuquerque, NM and Krista (Jon) Hartman, of Ortonmille, MN; 8 great-grandchildren; and her companion Bill Rix of Elbow Lake, MN.
Belle is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ella Lee; her husband Ronald; her brothers Alfred (Josephine), William (Fern), Floyd, Harry (in infancy) and sister, Rosie (Harold) Keller and her twin sister Bertha (John) Ruch.
