Arthur "Art" Wolter, 85, Breckenridge, MN, died Monday, May 19, 2008 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge.
His funeral will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Breckenridge, with Fr. Kenneth Popp officiating.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation on Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Breckenridge, MN
Art is survived by: His wife: Lorraine Wolter, Breckenridge, MN; His four children: Bonita "Bonnie" (Michael) Brunner, Minot, ND, and their children, Shelly, Bobby, Randy and Ryan; Ronald Wolter, Crookston, MN; Sharon (Ron) Leinen, Breckenridge, MN, and their children, Heidi, Eric and Heather; David (Joyce) Wolter, Breckenridge, MN, and their children, Kory, Leah and Rebecca; His 6 great-grandchildren; His sister: Gladys Graff, Minneapolis, MN
He was preceded in death by: His parents: Herman and Emma Wolter; His brothers: Alfred and Albert; His sisters: Edna, Pearl and Delilah; His grandson: Eddie Brunner
Art was born June 23, 1922 near Breckenridge, MN, the son of Herman and Emma (Engisch) Wolter. He grew up and attended school at Everdell, MN, then continued living at home and farming with his family.
Art was united in marriage to Lorraine Kvidera on June 27, 1944 at Foxhome, MN. The couple made their home on a farm north of Foxhome and lived there until 1948, when they purchased their farm east of Breckenridge where they have since resided. Art farmed until 1973 and was Sunnyside Township road maintainer for 13 years. He was also a rural mail carrier for 13 years, retiring in 1991.
Art was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge and Eagles Club Aerie #2749 in Wahpeton, ND. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, mowing lawns, playing cards, tinkering in his shop and spending time with his family. Art and Lorraine always enjoyed going to dances, especially dancing and socializing with their friends at the Eagles.
