Ann was born on December 7, 1918, to Anton and Lena (Swift) Miranowski, on a farm just outside of Brushvale, MN. After finishing country school, she helped her family on the farm until going to work at the Wahpeton Hospital. She then landed a job in the cafeteria at the North Dakota State School of Science. On September 28, 1944, Ann was united in marriage to Victor J. Ehlert, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kent. Victor was serving in the US Airforce and was stationed in Denver, CO, so the newlyweds began their married life on the military base in Denver. Following Victor's discharge, they moved back to the Kent area, where they began farming and raising their family. As their farm grew, so did their family. They were blessed with six children. Ann was a devoted mother and a hands-on, dedicated partner with Victor in operating the farm. The couple retired in 1982 but remained on the farm. Victor preceded her in death on July 22, 1994.
In her spare time, Ann loved to crochet and knit. She made sure there was a home cooked meal and baked goodies to welcome family and friends. She was a gifted artist and her paintings were threaded into many rooms in their home. Ann valued her family above all treasures on this earth and savored each day she spent with them.
Ann will be missed by her children, Michael (Carol) Ehlert of North Branch, MN, Eloise (Roger) Abel of Breckenridge, MN, Myron (Susan) Ehlert of Breckenridge, MN, Wayne Ehlert of Waco, TX, Kevin (Chris) Ehlert of Kent, MN; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Lena; her husband, Victor; her daughter, Marilyn; her siblings, Marie Beyer, Sister Mary David, Anastasia Terfehr, Lawrence, Jerome, Mark, and Raymond; and two grandchildren in infancy.
